"Could be better, but would be expensive."
Review: Probably reached the form vs function sweet spot.
There are a few tweaks that some parts upgrades would help. But .. then a very useful and reasonably priced accessory would be too expensive. The hose connection could definitely use a revamp or at lease a caveat that you're gonna have to "make it work" yourself.

Review: Yes, the overall function is very good.
Putting it together requires some tape to hold the hose and parts together - could be noted in the instructions - but that's a no brainer.
However, I'm not an engineer, but I would think that in manufacturing the connecting piece to the external hose, a 1" flange would ensure that it stays where it's supposed to stay wouldn't be a heavy lift.

Review: I have been using the Super Reel now for about 4 months and it works great. It's high quality and easy to assemble. The assembly instructions were illustrated and easy to follow. Some of the best instructions I've seen for a product.

Review: This is one of those things I might have cobbled together myself, and not worked as well. The lightening hole arrangement is very clever, preventing the hose from unreeling itself by its own weight (make sure you align the hole sizes on either sided).
Regarding the coupler: it is a very tight fit, requiring some effort with a mallet. Because of this, I suggest installing the coupler as first step.<br>

"Exceptional Product!!!"
Review: Love it! Easy to put together and works as described. I really like the off-balanced design as it prevents your hose from coming off the reel all at once. This is a product that is well thought out and shows the power of human Ingenuity. My only negative is the coupler used to connect your vacuum hose is a bit wonky. By wonky I mean it moves a bit when your hose is connected to it but this in no way prevents the unit from functioning correctly. Thanks FastCap for another excellent product!!!! Keep up the excellent work!!! <br>

"Hose Adapter does not fit"
Review: Like 2 of other reviews the hose adapter is too large for the hole. From your comment to the 7/18/2018 review, I expected that this problem would have fixed by now.
Also, I had to drill out holes in the crank since the supplied bolts would not go through it.<br>

<strong>Response: </strong>There is a new hose adapter but it is very tight in the hole. It is designed to be installed with a mallet. It functions better as a very tight fit. As for the hole in the crank, thank you for bringing this to our attention. It seems the entire current batch of crank handle have undersized holes drilled and we were not aware. We will drill them all out before shipping!!
"Hose adapter hole off center"
Review: Great product but could not get hose adapter into hole. The machined shoulder was off center. I had to disassemble the reel and so I could used a Dremel tool to re-machine the hole. After that I was able to securely press the adapter into place.
I suggest checking the fit of the hose adapter prior to assembling the reel.<br>

"Excellent Design, Relatively Simple Construction"
Review: This reel is a great alternative to other plastic hose reels. The machining on the wood parts is excellent and the ball bearing design rotates smoothly. This gives my shop a very professional appearance.
A suggestion for an improvement would be a hose winder to maximize the usable space on the reel. As it is, one needs to take care in winding in the hose to minimize the overlap.
I took off 1 star for the following 2 assembly issues: 1) When attaching the inner reel to the ball bearings, 2 of the short screw heads sheared off. 2) The plastic hose attachment did not fit securely in the inner reel. The hole was ~1/32 too small. This caused the plastic attachment to come loose as I attempted to fasten the hoses to the reel.<br>

<strong>Response:</strong>I'm sorry to hear about the powerheads shearing off, I have never heard of that before. I’m guessing you didn’t press fit the swivel cuff into the inner reel far enough. Can you send a picture to confirm?
