    Take another look!

  2. Dissappointed

When I found these at Menards I fell in love. However that love quickly vanished when I realized the tape measure 1/32" too long. So I took it back. I check all the stock on the shelf with the same results. So I'm giving it a 1 because it is not accurate.

    Reverse Flatback Tape measures

Your flatback tapes are wonderful, and a joy to use. I think what you need however, is to make your "Old Standby Flatback-16 " tape available as a reverse. A right handed woodworker measures flat stock holding the tape measure in the left hand, hooking the tape over the right edge of the material, drawing the tape across right to left, and then marking the material while holding a pencil or knife in the right hand. A reverse tape makes the numbers appear right side up. Please let me know if you make these available. Thanks.

  4. lots of innovation

When one tape measure of theirs went bad very prematurely IMHO (it was my first tape of theirs, and I had no experience with them) I called, and they said they would send me 2 tapes to replace the broken one, but they did want to see the broken one, so they could see if an improvement was needed, so I did have to go to the post offie to send it back to them. They said the other one was for my time. When I got a box from them, I was surprised to find 4 tapes, and a thank you note for helping them with product improvement. For woodworking I highly recommend their flat back tape. It rolls out perfectly flat, so if you are taking off a measurement you do not have to try to roll the tape up on it`s edge, so your pencil/scribe mark is right where you want it. The edge of the tape is right there, flat, so you can just mark it off. I also am not affiliated, except it is the only company I`ll buy a roll tape from. Fastcap, lots of innovative, and very well made products for woodworkers.

There is an oily substance coming from my tape measure. Is it harmful and how do I clean it?

The substance coming from your tape measure is a plasticizer, and it is not harmful. This might happen over time, but we are more than happy to replace your tape measure. Email us at shoppingcart@fastcap.com with your address, phone number, and which ProCarpenter tape measure you have or you call us at 888-443-3748 and we will get a new tape measure out to you.

I have a Flatback 16' Pro Carpenter tape measure that is about a month old. The main lock will not hold the blade in place, while the one on the bottom works fine. I bought two of these tapes from a distributor and the other one works fine. I was wondering, is there a warranty.

Our products are guaranteed to be free of defects. If you have a defective product first call the distributor that you bought the tape measure from and they will replace it for you, or call us at 1-888-443-3748.

Do any of your tape measure have 1/32" increments?
