Can the Flex Bench be used outdoors and well as indoors?
The Flex Bench is made from unfinished 15mm baltic birch plywood. This unfinished plywood is designed for indoor use and should not be exposed to excessive moisture. This is generally true of all unfinished plywoods. If you plan to use the bench outdoors or plan to store it in a wet or humid environment you will need to seal the plywood in some way to prevent warping and distortion. This blog post written by Billy McCarley on Hunker describes how to weatherize plywood: How to Weatherize Plywood
Internally we use a water sealant called Lumber-Seal from a company called Agra-Life. It can be found at a variety of retailers including home depot: lumber-seal. Please also do your own additional research or consult a local lumberyard for more tips on the weatherization of plywood. We are not responsible for the failures of this product if exposed to moisture.
How can I add another Blue Dog to my Flex Bench?
After purchasing more Blue Dogs, find the location on your bench and drill a 2-1/2" hole and push Blue Dogs into place.
Can you use any of FastCaps Sawhoods?
Yes, all our FastCap Sawhoods are compatible with the Flex Bench Systems. We recommend using Saw Hoodie because it is easily portable and uses minimal space.
Can you attach the stand to rollers?
I’m actually going to put wheels on the one that I’m putting at my home shop. I’m basically going to make a plywood base and set it on it so that the bench is a little taller because I like taller benches and roll it around. We’ve already done this once and it works great. -Paul
Where should I store my Flex Bench?
Due to the Flex Bench being made out of Unfinished Baltic Birch Plywood, we recommend that you store it somewhere dry and out of the weather.
How should I attach the bench down to my truck bed?
We strongly recommend that once you collapse your Flex Bench that you use ratchet straps to tie-down your bench. DO NOT USE BUNGEE CORDS.
