Is the Ballistic Apron being made with a thinner material?
Yes. We are making them out of lightweight ballistic nylon. Same excellent quality (at a lower price) and still guaranteed for life!
The kilt isn't self healing?
I just opened my ballistic kilt only to discover it doesn't have the self healing pockets. The website says "The Ballistic Apron series has been designed specifically with the woodworking professional in mind. All of the aprons are made out of ballistic nylon with self-healing hood & loop pockets." I guess that means the "series" is the black apron and the green apron. While the kilt, belt, and woodturner on the same list are part of a different series? Also, in Paul's video he talks about "a couple of features on all of them" and goes on to include the self healing pockets without ever saying they are ONLY on the apron. I LOVE FastCap products. I've never had better customer service anywhere. PERIOD. FastCap really is the BEST, but the Ballistic Apron page needs to be corrected, or at least move the other three items to a separate page so it's clear they are not the same.
Response: So sorry for the confusion. We'll get this fixed! We will also send you the Apron and refund your money on the Kilt.
The Ballistic Apron has great pockets that are positioned well for tools that would typically be used in a shop. The downfall is that the materials are thin and the stitching is coming undone from the pockets right out of the box. I will give it a try because $30 isn’t bad for an apron but I was expecting more from the “ballistic” apron.

Ballistic Apron - Self Healing
I have had mine for several years now. I like all the pockets, my biggest problem is the pockets don't hold their stiching at the bottom. So several of the pockets now have "escape holes". Some of this is caused by the sharp edges of things I carry in them. I would like to find a way to repair them. No, my wife will not repair them ;-)
